Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, February 8, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 4600 block of Willard Street in the Freedom Division.
On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at approximately 3:42 a.m., Freedom Division officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call for service in the 4600 block of Willard Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with an apparent stab wound. Medic arrived on scene and transported the victim to Atrium Health Main where he was pronounced deceased.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Medic and the Charlotte Fire Department also assisted.
