CDOT Treats Streets in Advance of Winter Weather

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 16, 2018

The Charlotte Department of Transportation's Street Maintenance Division crews are working under a Condition A response today applying salt brine on all priority routes, bridges and culverts, hospital entrances and emergencies called in. CDOT will begin Condition B response at 10 p.m. tonight. Condition B targets major and minor thoroughfares and the majority of residential collector streets. Motorists are asked to give heavy equipment and trucks treating roads plenty of room to work. Staff will continue to monitor weather conditions and make adjustments as needed.​

Motorists should report icy road conditions by calling CharMeck 311. Also, reports of routine icing on City streets can be called in to 704-336-3200. Actual emergencies and crashes should be called in to 911.
