CHARLOTTE, N.C (March 7, 2023) – The City of Charlotte announced it now accepts passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.
The office was celebrated with a ribbon cutting and remarks from Mayor Pro Tem Braxton Winston, Interim Assistant City Manager Ryan Bergman and City Clerk Stephanie C. Kelly.
The new passport acceptance office is located in Suite 159 of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 E. Fourth Street.
"This is the only passport facility located in the Uptown area," said Kelly. "The city is pleased to provide this additional convenience to city employees and Uptown residents, workers and visitors."
U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Services are offered in-person by appointment only.
