About the Alliance:
The Mayor's Mentoring Alliance educates mentoring organizations about best practices and mentoring standards, ignites impactful and enduring mentor-mentee relationships and connects Charlotte's mentoring
We understand the importance of mentoring and how it can change the lives of local youth. Mentors not only provide their mentees with someone who cares about them, but they also help them:
- Improve academic skills
- Set career goals
- Improve self-esteem
- Stay in school
- Deal with day-to-day challenges
Mentoring is linked to improved academic, social, and economic prospects for youth. When you volunteer to become a mentor, you are not only positively impacting someone's life. You are ultimately helping to strengthen our local community and workforce.
National Mentoring Month 2019
Each January, we celebrate National Mentoring Month, honoring the work of local mentors, mentees and agencies that not only positively impact Charlotte's youth, but also help to strengthen our local economy and workforce. No matter where you are in your journey – looking for a mentor, interested in becoming a mentor, actively engage a mentee, or participate in a mentoring organization – we want to celebrate with you.
Join us for a series of events designed to help you discover more about mentoring, connect you to mentoring opportunities, and empower mentors and mentees alike.
