Dataset Description Link Server Platform
Water Supply Watersheds Boundaries Watersheds in western Mecklenburg County, NC that are protected due to being adjacent to Charlotte Water's drinking water source, the Catawba River. These boundaries also indicate that special development restrictions apply within these areas. Link Mecklenburg County Open Mapping
Watershed Boundaries This dataset indicates the boundaries of watersheds Mecklenburg County, NC, which identify the creeks and streams that stormwater will flow into after a precipitation event. Link Mecklenburg County Open Mapping
Water Quality Buffers The dataset contains polygons representing riparian buffers along stream banks in Mecklenburg County, NC as well as indicating some piped streams where buffers are not required. The buffer types are determined by different ordinances and statues required at the local, state and Federal levels. Buffer types include: Post Construction Buffers; Surface Water Infrastructure Management (SWIM) buffers; Water Supply Watershed Buffers (WSW); and Wildlife Buffers. Link Mecklenburg County Open Mapping
Post Construction Districts Plan review ensures that sufficient post-construction structural controls will be implemented to protect water quality and mitigate the impacts of development on stream flows after construction is complete. The Water Quality Buffers dataset includes construction buffers identified for each creek or stream. Link Mecklenburg County Open Mapping
Wetlands This data represents the potential wetlands located within Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. A wetland is a land area that is saturated with water, either permanently or seasonally, that supports vegetation of aquatic plants adapted to the unique hydric soil.
