Diplomatic Relations
Protocol is the official procedures or rules governing diplomatic interactions. The Chief of Protocol enables the City to have smooth interactions with foreign visitors, dignitaries, and the consular corps. Alexis Gordon serves as the Chief of Protocol for the City of Charlotte by providing protocol guidance and other relevant information on international relations to city staff and public officials.
The members of the North Carolina Consular Corps serve several functions, primarily to protect and advance the interests of the countries they represent. Currently, North Carolina has one Consulate General and 24 Honorary Consulates.
Every September the Charlotte International Cabinet host a joint meeting with the Honorary Consuls of both North and South Carolina.
