Planning Commission Work Session

The City is currently engaged in the process of developing its first Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), a regulatory tool meant to guide future development in Charlotte to reflect the types of community and places defined by the Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan policies. UDO staff will make a presentation to the Planning Commission at the November 9 meeting (streamed on the Planning Design and Development Facebook page), providing an overview of proposed non-residential and mixed-use zoning districts as well as conceptual lower-density neighborhood residential zoning districts.

Regulations and standards from eight different development ordinances are being combined into a single comprehensive document. The UDO will consolidate and update regulations and standards currently found in the City’s Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, Tree Ordinance, Chapter 19 (Streets and Sidewalks), Floodplain Regulations, Erosion Control Regulations, Stormwater Regulations, and Driveway/Access Standards.

Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Time: 02:00 PM

The meeting will be live streamed on Planning, Design & Development's Facebook page.
