Sexual Assault Investigation in the Westover Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, August 3, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a sexual assault that occurred in the Westover Division.

On Wednesday, August 2, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Westover Division officers responded to a sexual assault call for service in the 200 block of W. Woodlawn Road. The female victim stated she had been sexually assaulted by an unknown male subject.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately in his mid-20’s, 5’10”, with short black hair.  He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, light colored shirt, a floral-patterned neck gaiter and camouflage shorts.  The subject may have scratches on his face.  Detectives were able to obtain surveillance images and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual pictured below.
