Death Investigation in the University City Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday, June 30, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a death investigation in the 700 block of Pavilion Boulevard in the University City Division.

 

On Thursday, June 29, 2023, shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of a subject shot in the parking lot outside the PNC Music Pavilion. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by MEDIC.

Homicide detectives along with Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Charlotte Fire, and MEDIC also assisted.

    

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
