Public's Assistance Requested in Fatal Hit-And-Run Investigation

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, December 17, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect vehicle that appears to be between a 2011 and 2017 dark colored Nissan Juke.

The vehicle was involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision in the Eastway Division on Sunday, December 9, 2024, at 2:15 a.m., in the 1000 block of North Caldwell Street.

The suspect fled the scene of the collision and was last seen driving eastbound on Central Avenue near Hawthorne Lane. The vehicle may have damage to the front or right area of the bumper and may have a broken front windshield.           

This is an ongoing, active investigation.  As further information develops it will be released by the CMPD Public Affairs Division.  Any witnesses to the crash, or anyone with information concerning the crash, should contact Detective Sessoms at (704) 432-2169 Extension 3 or Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.
