Public’s Assistance Requested in Locating Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, December 2, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) are requesting the public's assistance in locating Amir Amaru Moore, 22.

On November 7, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Freedom Division officers responded to 200 block of North Hoskins Road in reference to an Assault with Deadly Weapon call for service. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with gunshot wounds.

Freedom Division detectives identified Moore as the suspect in this shooting. Warrants were issued for his arrest for the following:

Attempted Murder
Felony Conspiracy
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

CMPD’s VCAT began apprehension efforts for Moore. Moore is a black male, in his 20’s, 6’4” and is approximately 160lbs.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
