Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, July 18, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Independence Division are conducting an officer-involved shooting investigation involving a barricaded subject in the 7700 block of Krefeld Glen Drive in the Independence Division.
On Monday, July 17, 2023, shortly before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a check the welfare call for service. Officers arrived on scene and met with family members who placed the call for service. In this investigative phase, yelling was heard from inside the apartment followed by an apparent gunshot. Officers made entry into the apartment to verify the safety of the suspected adult and juvenile occupants.
