Officer Discharges Firearm in the Westover Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, April 18, 2024) – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Westover Division has made an arrest in a commercial breaking and entering investigation.
Officers received a call for service Thursday, April 18, shortly before 6:00 a.m. for a breaking and entering at a business/residence in the 3300 block of West Boulevard.
While investigating the break-in, officers encountered several dogs that were not tied up in the street outside the building. One dog displayed aggressive behavior and charged at an officer who fired their service weapon and struck the dog, which succumbed to its injuries. The officer was not bitten in the incident.
The breaking and entering suspect barricaded himself in a back room of the building. Officers made entry into the building and located and arrested the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Terrance Davis.
Davis is charged with Felony Breaking and Entering and Resist/Delay/Obstruct.
