Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday, February 23, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 2600 block of Mayfair Avenue in the Westover Division.

 

On Monday, November 20, 2023, at approximately 12:13 a.m., Westover Division officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call for service in the 2600 block of Mayfair Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers located two male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  The Charlotte Fire Department and Medic also arrived on scene.  Medic transported both victims to Atrium Health Main with life-threatening injuries. 

 

Westover Division detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.

 

On Thursday, February 22, 2024, detectives with the CMPD’s Homicide Unit were notified that one of the victims, Anarion Savage, 21, succumbed to his injuries.  The victim’s next of kin is aware of his death.

 

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office.
