Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, February 11, 2024) – The victim in this case has been identified as Anthony Smith (DOB: 10/11/1997). The victim’s family has been notified of his death.

Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, February 11, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 4500 block of South Boulevard in the Westover Division.
On Sunday, February 11, 2024, shortly after 1:00 a.m., officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the 4500 block of South Boulevard for an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Investigations responded to process the scene. Representatives from the CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, MEDIC and the Charlotte Fire Department also assisted.
