Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, July 9, 2024) – The victim in this case has been identified as Lamarcus Jackson, 29. The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Homicide Investigation in the Westover Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, July 8, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 1500 block of Parker Drive in the Westover Division.
On Monday, July 8, shortly before 9:00 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service in the 1500 block of Parker Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to area hospitals.
MEDIC pronounced one victim deceased upon arrival to the hospital. The other victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Two additional victims self-transported to local hospitals. One of those victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and the other has life-threatening injuries.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services and CFD also assisted.
