Homicide Investigation in the Steele Creek Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, September 14, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 9200 block of Kings Parade Boulevard in the Steele Creek Division.
On Friday, September 13, 2024, at approximately 1:19 p.m., Steele Creek Division officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Injury call for service in the 9200 block of Kings Parade Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. MEDIC pronounced both victims deceased on the scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives of CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, MEDIC and the Charlotte Fire Department also assisted.
The initial investigation indicates this to be a murder-suicide with the suspect taking their own life. The CMPD is not looking for any additional suspects at this time.
The names of the individuals involved are being withheld at this time pending next of kin notification.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office.
