Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, April 14, 2024) – The victim has been identified as Larry Thomas Jr., 27. The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday, April 12, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 5300 block of Pinehurst Park Drive in the Providence Division.
On Friday, April 12, shortly after 9 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service in the 5300 block of Pinehurst Park Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. MEDIC also responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and MEDIC also assisted.
