Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, May 23, 2024) – The victim in this case has been identified as Jonathan Miller, 14.

 

As a result of the continued investigation, homicide detectives have identified and charged a 16-year-old juvenile for 1st Degree Murder. Detectives were granted a secure custody order, and the juvenile was transferred to the custody of Stonewall Jackson Detention Facility.

 

The family of the victim has been notified of the death of the victim and arrest of the suspect.

 

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, May 22, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 200 block of Ann Elizabeth Drive in the North Tryon Division.

 

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., North Tryon Division officers responded to an Assist Medic call for service in the 200 block of Ann Elizabeth Drive. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with numerous gunshot wounds. This victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.

 

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, MEDIC and the Charlotte Fire Department also assisted.
