Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, November 20, 2024) – The deceased victim in this case has been identified as Ronnie Leon Ruth, 53. The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, November 19, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 1400 block of Tom Hunter Road in the North Tryon Division.
On Tuesday, November 19, shortly after 5:30 p.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service in the 1400 block of Tom Hunter Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by CFD.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services and CFD also responded to assist.
