Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, August 3, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 3500 block of Shamrock Drive in the North Tryon Division.

On Friday, August 2nd, shortly after 11:30 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service in the 3500 block of Shamrock Drive.  Upon arrival, officers discovered four victims with gunshot wounds.

Two subjects were located in the roadway with life-threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Two additional victims were located with life-threatening injuries at a nearby residence. One of those victims was pronounced deceased on the scene by Medic.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services and CFD also assisted.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office.
