Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, November 6, 2023) – The deceased victim in this case has been identified as Josue Vicente Martinez Gonzalez (DOB: 01/12/1998). The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, November 6, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 100 block of Eastway Drive in the North Tryon Division.
On Sunday, November 5, 2023, at approximately 2:44 a.m., North Tryon Division officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service in the 100 block of Eastway Drive. Upon arrival, officers located two male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The Charlotte Fire Department and MEDIC also arrived on scene. MEDIC transported one victim to Atrium Health Main with life-threatening injuries. The second victim was transported to Atrium Health University with non-life-threatening injuries.
Division detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search also responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence.
On Monday, November 6, 2023, the gunshot wound victim who was transported to Atrium Health Main succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim will be released pending next of kin notification.
