Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, August 19, 2024) – The victim in this case has been identified as Glandina Latamba Dixon, 47.  The victim’s next of kin has been notified of her death.

 

As a result of the continued investigation, detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Homicide Unit have identified and charged a suspect in connection to the murder of Ms. Dixon.

 

On Sunday, August 18, 2024, CMPD’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) arrested Mr. Sam Roary, 53.  Mr. Roary was then transported to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) in Uptown (601 E. Trade St.) to speak with detectives.  At the conclusion of the interview, Mr. Roary was transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Murder.

 

Ms. Dixon’s next of kin has been notified of the arrest.

Homicide Investigation in the North Division 

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, August 17, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 4200 block of Trailer Drive in the North Division.

 

On Saturday, August 17, shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers responded to an assist to MEDIC call for service in the 4200 block of Trailer Drive.  Upon arrival, victim was found with trauma. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.

 

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and Medic also assisted.
