Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, December 19, 2024) - As a result of the continued investigation in the death of Nasir Quron Boyd, 20, detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified a suspect, Reginald Lashawn Harrison, 22, in connection to this case.
On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Harrison turned himself into the Gaston County Jail where he was interviewed by homicide detectives.
Harrison will be transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with the following:
- First Degree Murder
- Discharge of a Firearm into a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Firearm by Felon
Mr. Boyd’s next of kin has been notified of the arrest.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, May 20, 2024) – The victim in this case has been identified as Nasir Quron Boyd, 20. Mr. Boyd’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
As a result of the continued investigation, detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified a suspect in connection to this case.
The CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the suspect, Reginald Lashawn Harrison, 21. Mr. Harrison is wanted for Murder. Anyone with information about Mr. Harrison’s whereabouts is asked to call CMPD’s VCAT immediately at 704-336-VCAT (8228). Mr. Harrison should be considered armed and dangerous.

Homicide Investigation in the North Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Thursday, March 14, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 4500 block of Tanager Park Drive in the North Division.
On Thursday, March 14, 2024, shortly before 2:00 p.m., North Division officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call for service in the 4500 block of Tanager Park Drive. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEDIC responded and transported to the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives of CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, MEDIC and the Charlotte Fire Department also assisted.
