Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, October 30, 2024) – The victim in this case has been identified as Jeremy Moore, 46. The victim’s family has been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, October 29, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 5000 block of Sunset Road in the North Division.
On Tuesday, October 29, shortly after 4:30 a.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service in the 5000 block of Sunset Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a person with a gunshot wound. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on the scene. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that two other victims were shot. Both were transported to Atrium Main.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and Medic also assisted.
