Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Metro Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Monday, March 31, 2025) – The victim in this case has been identified as Wesley Guerra, 20. Mr. Guerra’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-8477 (TIPS) and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective. Detective Diekhaus is the lead detective assigned to this case.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, March 30, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 2600 block of Royston Road in the Metro Division.
On Sunday, March 30, shortly after 1 p.m., officers responded to call for service in the 2600 block of Royston Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound and MEDIC pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and MEDIC also responded to assist.
