Homicide Investigation in the Hickory Grove Division

 

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, October 5, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 8000 block of Trousdale Dr. in the Hickory Grove Division.

 

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, shortly before 11:00 p.m., Hickory Grove Division officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call for service in the 8000 block of Trousdale Dr. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEDIC pronounced the victim deceased on scene.

 

Officers also found a second victim on scene suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  That victim was transported by MEDIC with non-life threatening injuries.  Detectives are working to determine the relationship between the two victims. 

 

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from the CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, the Charlotte Fire Department and MEDIC also assisted.

 

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office.
