Homicide Investigation in the Freedom Division
Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, April 3, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 3000 block of Forestbrook Drive in the Freedom Division.
On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p.m., officers responded to an assault call for service in the 3000 block of Forestbrook Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim who had sustained physical injury. The victim was transported by MEDIC to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Investigations responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victims Services, MEDIC and the Charlotte Fire Department also assisted.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office.
