Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the Central Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, April 16, 2025) – As a result of the ongoing investigation into the death of Qualo Trevon Daniels a suspect has been identified in connection to this case. On April 16, officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) arrested Jeremiah Deshawn McCree, 20. After his arrest, Mr. McCree was transported to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) for an interview with detectives from CMPD’s Homicide Unit. Mr. McCree was then transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
McCree is charged with the following:
- Attempted 1st Degree Murder
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
- Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Mr. Daniels’ next of kin have been notified of the arrest.

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, April 12, 2025) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 300 block of E. Trade St. in the Central Division.
On Saturday, April 12, shortly before 10:30 p.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Injury call for service in the 300 block of E. Trade St. Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported with life-threatening injuries and pronounced at a nearby hospital.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and MEDIC also responded to assist.
