Homicide Investigation in the Central Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, November 2, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 300 block of S. Church St. in the Central Division.
On Saturday, November 2, shortly before 10:00 p.m., Central Division officers responded to a shots fired call for service in the 300 block of S. Church St. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. MEDIC arrived on scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from the CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, the Charlotte Fire Department and MEDIC also assisted.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office.
