Fatal Pedestrian Crash in the Westover Division

Charlotte, N.C. – (Friday, July 26, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in the Westover Division.

 

On Friday, July 26, 2024, at approximately 9:46 a.m., Westover Division officers and MEDIC responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a Norfolk Southern Train behind the 200 block of Peachtree Drive South.  Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive female lying on the railroad tracks.  MEDIC pronounced the pedestrian, Jenna Wolfe, 37, deceased on scene.

 

Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit and Motor Unit responded to the scene to conduct their investigation and members of Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. The preliminary investigation indicates Ms. Wolfe was lying on the railroad tracks when she was struck by a train.

 

Ms. Wolfe’s next of kin has been notified of her death.
