Charlotte, N.C. – (Tuesday, December 10, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in the Westover Division.

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 5:55 p.m., Westover Division officers responded to a vehicle crash with injuries in the 1300 block of Tyvola Road.  Upon arrival, officers located a silver 2025 Triumph Daytona 660 motorcycle and its operator Parker Allan Kvasnicka, 19, and a grey 2007 Honda Accord sedan and its three occupants. MEDIC arrived on scene and pronounced Kvasnicka deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The three passengers in the Honda Accord suffered minor injuries and were transported by MEDIC to Atrium Health Main.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Kvasnicka was traveling east on Tyvola Road away from South Boulevard towards Tyvola Drive at a high rate of speed. The Honda was traveling north on Tyvola Drive and making a left turn onto the westbound lane of Tyvola Road. The front of Triumph struck the left front of the Honda. Kvasnicka was ejected from the motorcycle.

Speed is a suspected factor in this case for the motorcycle. Impairment is not suspected for either driver.

This is an ongoing, active investigation. As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs. Any witnesses to the crash, or anyone with information concerning the crash, should contact Detective Pressley at (704) 432-2169 Extension 2 or Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.
