Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, September 9, 2023) – The victim in this case has been identified as Gustavo Adolfo Nunez (DOB: 09/11/1998). The victim’s family has been notified of his death.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office. Charlotte, N.C. – (Saturday, September 9, 2023) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 2000 block of Prospect Drive in the North Tryon Division.
On Saturday, September 9, shortly before 1:30 a.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call for service in the 2000 block of Prospect Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. Officers pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD and Medic also responded.
