Case Update: Homicide Investigation in the North Tryon Division

As a result of the continued investigation into the death of Ronnie Leon Ruth, 53, detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD) Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) and CMPD’s Special Weapons and Tactics team (SWAT) located and arrested Sharrieff Ellis Gray, 52. Mr. Gray was brought to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) and interviewed by homicide detectives.

Former Track Coach Charged in Sexual Assault Division Investigation

Charlotte, N.C. – (Wednesday, November 13, 2024) – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) have arrested and charged a former high school track coach in a Special Victims Division-Sexual Assault Unit (SAU) investigation.
