Pet licensing is required within City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County for all dogs, cats, ferrets starting at 4 months of age and must have proof of a current rabies vaccine to apply or update.
Apply or pay online for ownership permits as well as, pay citations. Permits are required to house 3 or more pets outdoors (dogs, cats, and others) as well as any livestock or farm animals.
Apply online for Spay/Neuter services when public space is available. We highly encourage spaying female and neutering male pets to help curb pet overpopulation, prevent dangerous roaming, and to help provide a longer, healthier life.
