Charlotte is celebrating its 250th anniversary in 2018. This is a time to recognize our history, commemorate our spirit of independence and celebrate our future and continued growth. In celebration of Charlotte’s 250th anniversary, the City of Charlotte will complete 250 projects – from murals to sidewalks – between May 2018 and December 2019.

This project will link to the exiting programs such as Vision Zero, Placemaking and Community Investment Plan.

​250 in 250 Grants

Charlotte residents are invited to apply for grants of up to $10,000 for placemaking projects in celebration of the City’s 250th anniversary.  A total of $50,000 has been dedicated to the Placemaking Grant Program, which will provide funding and technical support to residents to create and enhance community vibrancy, safety, and creative identity.​​​​ Learn more about Placemaking Grant
