Beatties Ford Road between Dixon St and 5 Points Intersection

Friday, November 1, 2019 at 9 AM - Friday, January 31, 2020 at 6 PM

Track installation will occur. Portions of this work will occur over night. Traffic will be detoured.

Rozzelles Ferry / W. 5th St. and Beatties Ford / W. Trade St. Intersection (5 Points Intersection)

Sat, Sept 21, 2019 at 7 AM – Friday, Nov 1 2019 at 6 AM     

Track installation will occur. Portions of this work will occur during the night.

 

 W. Trade St. between Rozzelles Ferry / W. 5th St. and I-77 S Connector Rd.

Mon, Nov 4 at 9 AM to Mon, Dec 9 at 6 AM

Wesley Heights at Trade St. will close to traffic. Local traffic will be maintained.


 

Uptown Segment (Block-by-Block)


Graham St. and W. Trade St. Intersection Closure

  • Single lane closures will occur the nights of Sept. 24th and 25th to install traffic loops.
  • Intersection Closure will occur the nights of Sept. 26th and 27th between the hours of 9 PM to 6 AM each night.

During this time Trade St. will be closed Eastbound from Cedar to Graham.

Detour Route: Utilize W. 5th St., Church St., W. 4th St., and Cedar St.


Trade St. between Graham and Tryon

August 19, 2019 at 9 AM to December 20, 2019 at 6 AM

Local traffic access will be maintained.

Detours: Eastbound Trade – Utilize Johnson & Wales Way, W. 4th St., Mint, 3rd St., and Caldwell St.

               Westbound Trade – Utilize Caldwell St., E. 6th St., E. 5th St.

 

Poplar St. and Trade St. Intersection

September 9, 2019 at 9 AM – October 16, 2019 at 6 AM

Track installation will occur. Portions of this work will occur during the night.

Detours:Utilize Graham St., W. 5th St., Church St., and W. 4th St.

Church Street and Trade Street Intersection

October 16, 2019 - November 8, 2019

Track installation will occur. Portions of this work will occur overnight.

Detours: Utilize Graham Street, West 5th Street, Caldwell Street, and W. 4th Street.

Tryon Street and Trade Street Intersection

Tryon Street and Trade Street intersection will be closed during the following timeframes for track installation:

November 18 at 9 AM – November 26 at 6 PM

December 2 at 9 AM – December 5 at 6 AM

December 9 9 AM – December 22 at 6 PM

Detours: Utilize Poplar Street, West 5th Street, Caldwell Street and West 4th Street.

College Street and Trade Street Intersection

January 2, 2020 at 9 a.m. - February 10, 2020 at 6 a.m.

Track installation will occur, Portions of this work will ocur overnight.

Detours: Utilize Graham Street, West 5th Street, Caldwell Street, and West 4th Street.

Hawthorne Segment

Hawthorne Lane & 8th Street Intersection

Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 9 AM - Monday, October 21, 2019 at 6 AM

Hawthorne Ln. between 7th and 8th opened to one lane in each direction.


Hawthorne Lane Bridge Reconstruction & Closure

July 2017 to April 2020

  • Hawthorne Lane, between Bay Street and Hawthorne Bridge Court, will remain closed until all bridge work is complete in April 2020

  • Motorists should utilize East 7th Street and Central Avenue as the detour. This road will be closed to all through traffic.

Weather and unforeseen circumstances occasionally prevent work from being completed as scheduled, and make it unsafe to reopen lanes or streets when planned. When this occurs, City traffic engineers work directly with other City staff and contractors to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and reduce impacts to the traveling public.

Pedestrians walking near work zone areas should be alert, cautious and allow extra traveling time. It is advised they cross at signalized intersections, use pedestrian walk signals where available and abide by detour signage.

Motorists traveling through work zone areas should be alert and extra cautious. Drivers should get in the correct lane well in advance and constantly be on the lookout for vehicles merging into adjacent travel lanes as they approach a work zone. Drivers should double their following distance.
