Transit Planning

Pineville/Ballantyne Study

During the LYNX System Update and the Regional Transit Engagement Series there was significant interest in rapid transit to Pineville and Ballantyne.  In February 2019, the Metropolitan Transit Commission directed staff to continue the LYNX System Update study to evaluate rapid transit options, including a light rail extension, to the Town of Pineville and the community of Ballantyne.

CATS is taking a fresh look at transit opportunities in the Pineville and Ballantyne area and is seeking public input on transit goals, constraints, and opportunities in the South Charlotte corridor.

Give us your feedback!

CATS has completed Phase 1 of public outreach which collected baseline feedback regarding transit desires.

Phase 2 of outreach will further refine the communities' thoughts on proposed light rail alignment options.

After watching this video, which explains the alignment options, take the survey and tell us what you think! The survey will be live until Friday, May 31. Take the survey HERE
