Whether you want to grab a bite, watch a game or sightsee, the CityLYNX Gold Line can take you there! The CityLYNX Gold Line makes traveling through Uptown Charlotte a breeze; you can cut through the center city traffic by taking a ride on CATS’ fare-free streetcar. Phase 2 of the streetcar opened in August 2021 and debuted the innovative Siemens S70 streetcars to replace the traditional trolleys. The new phase also extended the alignment to span from French Street all the way to Sunnyside Avenue, providing easy access to entertainment, education and medical care for riders.
