Changes Coming to CATS Pass Mobile Ticketing App

CATS is working to transition from the current CATS Pass mobile ticketing app to an improved ticketing app that will include:

  • More ticket options for customers
  • Multi-language function
  • Google/Apple Pay features
  • Rider alert notifications
  • Trip-planning

Exchanges can be made through August 22nd 2021.  

All purchases via the CATSPass app will be suspended effective 

August 1st 2021.

​As we transition to the new CATS-Pass, the functionality of the current app will be reduced. Customers must use any unused passes or any funds in their cash wallet by August 22. August monthly passes will not be available to purchase electronically. Customers will be notified when the new CATS-Pass app is ready for use.

If you currently have funds in your cash wallet, please use those funds by August 22, 2021. Tokens up to the value of the remaining cash in your mobile wallet will be provided.  Customers can visit the CATS Customer Service Office at the Charlotte Transportation Center, or remote pass sales locations at the LYNX Blue Line JW Clay Station or I-485 Station for exchanges.

Exchanges will be made through August 22, 2021. No cash refunds will be issued. Tokens can be used in both CATS fareboxes and ticket vending machines as payment for fare.

If you currently have unused tickets, please use those tickets by August 22, 2021No August Monthly passes will be sold via the CATS Pass mobile app.

What will be exchanged:

  • Unused one ride ticket – 1 token for each unused ticket
  • Unused one day ticket – 3 tokens or option of printed one day pass
  • Unused weekly ticket – 7-day punch pass

​Customers will need verify their mobile account, by providing their Name, Phone Number, and 7-digit User ID. The User ID can be found by:

-Log into CATSPass app

-Click "menu" in bottom right corner (3-lines)

 -Click profile  

 -User ID

Customers will also need to complete a CATSPass Exchange form authorizing CATS staff to deactivate their mobile account and agreeing to the exchange of unused passes and/or remaining balance for tokens.

​Yes.  You will need to download the new CATS-Pass and re-register by creating a new account.  The old CATS Pass will be de-activated. 

Once the new CATS-Pass is ready, you'll need to download the app and create an account.  Be sure to look for CATS-Pass, with a dash between the words CATS and Pass.

​Yes.  CATS will notify customers when CATS-Pass is available in both the Apple and Google Play stores.
