Ted Kaplan is the Chief Business and Innovation Officer of Charlotte Douglas International Airport, which is owned and operated by the City of Charlotte.
He oversees the Airport's Business & Revenue, Economic & Community Affairs and Innovation & Experience divisions.
He joined the Aviation Department in 2009 and has served in such roles as senior assistant city attorney and Business & Revenue director. Before coming to work at the Airport, Kaplan worked for four years as a commercial litigator for the Charlotte office of K &L Gates (formerly Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman).
Kaplan has a Bachelor of Arts from Davidson College, a Master's in Public Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
He is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives and a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar and the North Carolina Bar Association.
