​Pete Brown Road &  Old Statesville Road

A new traffic signal has been approved by the North Carolina Department of Transportation for installation at the intersection of Pete Brown Road and Old Statesville Road.  The signal is being installed to accommodate future traffic volumes.

Will there be a left turn arrow? 

Yes.  There will be left turn phases for both Old Statesville Road approaches.

Will there be any crosswalks and pedestrian signals? 

Yes.  All four legs will have crosswalks and pedestrian signals

Where is the money for the signal coming from? 

The installation is part of the Pete Brown extension project funded by the City of Charlotte's Community Investment Plan.

Will any additional road construction take place before the signal is installed? 

A left turn lane will be added to Pete Brown Road and the rail crossing will have gates and lights added.

When will the signal be operational? 

The Charlotte Department of Transportation is working with Norfolk Southern to determine the signal crossing gates to be installed for the proposed signal at Pete Brown Rd and NC 115. The project has been postponed until the details of this infrastructure are identified and the impacts to adjacent properties can be determined.
