A new traffic signal has been approved by the North Carolina Department of Transportation for installation at the intersection of Hucks Road and Old Statesville Road. The signal is being installed to accommodate existing and future traffic.

Will there be a left turn arrow?
Yes. A left turn phase will be installed for southbound Old Statesville Road.
Will there be any crosswalks and pedestrian signals?
No. These features will be installed when sidewalks are constructed at the intersection.
Where is the money for the signal coming from?
Currently, the signal is unfunded.
Will any additional road construction take place before the signal is installed?
Yes, a left turn lane will be added to both southbound Old Statesville Road and westbound Hucks Road. A right turn lane will also be constructed on northbound Old Statesville Road. Railroad crossing gates will be installed at the railroad crossing on Hucks Road.
When will the signal be operational?
Once funding is in place, the design and installation of a traffic signal normally take 9-12 months.
