Overview

The Water Oak Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 115 acres, the project will replace and/or rehabilitate aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project area is bordered by Bertonley Avenue to the north, Addison Drive to the south, Emory Lane to the east and Whitby Lane to the west.

Project Updates

March 2025

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and Sealand Contractors Corp. continue with construction. Work is anticipated to be complete mid-2025.

Project updates

  • Asphalt resurfacing is complete on Addison Drive, Stafford Circle, and Emory Lane. Crews will finish landscaping in this area this spring.
  • Storm drainage and sanitary sewer improvements continue along N. Sharon Amity Road.
  • Storm drainage improvements along Water Oak and Walker Roads are scheduled to begin this summer.
