Overview

The Riverbend Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 99 acres, the project will replace and/or rehabilitate aging infrastructure and provide improved drainage system capacity. The project area is bordered by Ashton Drive to the north, Sharon Road to the south, Sherbrooke Drive to the east and Whistelstop Road to the west.

Project Updates

August 2024

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and D&A Wolverine have acquired most of the easements needed for construction. The project team is working on finalizing the design plans. 

The real estate acquisition phase should be complete soon and then the bid phase will begin. During this phase, the final plans will be circulated to qualified contractors for a competitive bidding process. Once City Council awards the contract, construction will be scheduled.
