Lakewood Water Quality Enhancement Project

  • Project typeStorm Water Services
Overview

The Lakewood Water Quality Enhancement Project will improve surface water quality through the construction of an engineered wetland stormwater control measure to treat and convey the watershed’s runoff.

The project is proposed to be built on an undeveloped parcel of land bordered by Lakewood Avenue to the north, Stewart Creek to the south and west, and Parkway Avenue and Lakeview Street to the east. The project is located within a drainage area of approximately 48 acres.

Mecklenburg County is beginning construction on a new section of Stewart Creek Greenway. The Stewart Creek greenway trail, stream enhancement project, and water quality enhancement project is a partnership between Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Department and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services.
