Overview

The Craighead/Tryon Storm Drainage Improvement Project will replace aging infrastructure plus reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. Located within a drainage area of approximately 45 acres. The project area is bordered by Glory Street to the north, Little Sugar Creek to the south, Sugar Creek Road to the east and Craighead Road to the west.

Project Updates

November 2024

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and Land Design, Inc. are in the process of acquiring easements needed for construction. The project team is also working on finalizing the design plans. 

The real estate acquisition phase should be complete soon and then the bid phase will begin. During this phase, the final plans will be circulated to qualified contractors for a competitive bidding process. Once City Council awards the contract, construction will be scheduled.
