Overview

The Beckwith/Meadow Storm Drainage Improvement Project will reduce street and structure flooding throughout the neighborhood. The project is located within a drainage area of approximately 566 acres, the project will replace and/or rehabilitate aging infrastructure and provide adequate drainage system capacity. The project area is bordered by The Plaza to the north, Briar Creek to the south, Eastway Drive to the east and The Plaza and Matheson Avenue to the west.

Project Updates

May 2024

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and STV, Inc. have acquired all easements needed for construction. The project team is working on finalizing the design plans. 

The bid phase is the next step in the project process and is anticipated to begin this winter. During this phase, the final plans will be circulated to qualified contractors for a competitive bidding process. Once City Council awards the contract, construction will be scheduled.

       

Estimated Cost: $19,300,000*

*includes all costs associated with this project such as planning and design, utility relocation, consultant fees, permits, construction, and landscaping.
