In November 2014, voters approved $20 million for the Comprehensive Neighborhood Improvement Program (CNIP). The Shamrock/Plaza/Matheson intersection redesign project was selected as one of the projects to move forward under the Central/Albemarle/Shamrock CNIP.
This project will look at various intersection realignment options and costs to better connect the neighborhoods on either side of The Plaza, creating easier access to shopping along the corridor and into NoDa (North Davidson area) and the LYNX Blue Line. This study will refine the alignment options that would help make a more seamless multimodal corridor. Once a final alignment is determined, the project team will seek funding to construct.
