 Project updates

​This project provides bicycle and sidewalk connections and provides additional travel lanes to reduce delay and improve capacity for motorists. Design improvements at the intersection include an additional southbound left turn lane on Providence Road, addition of the eastbound turn lane on Ballantyne Commons Parkway and an eastbound through lane beginning on Ballantyne Commons Parkway ending at Tilley Morris Road.

  • To improve capacity and relieve congestion

  • To improve the level of service for pedestrians and bicyclists

  • To complement NCDOT’s recent widening of Providence Road south of I-485

On August 12, 2014, a public meeting was held to present the recommended design​.

$10.5 million

Please note this is the funding amount and includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
